I started my newborn photography journey 7 years ago. I had just finished my junior year in college and had been studying photography on my own for a few years. I had already started to learn the ins and outs of portrait photography (my college roommates were my most photographed subjects back in my early days!) but something was pulling me in the direction of photographing babies. I discovered the art of newborn photography after stumbling upon the portfolio of Brittany Woodall and immediately fell in love with her work. I wanted to take pictures just like hers…and I’ve always loved babies, so it seemed like the perfect fit. The very first newborn I ever photographed was my cousin’s baby girl Ava. She was 9 days old.
Fast forward to this past June when I photographed my one hundredth newborn – Baby A (which doesn’t stand for Ava, although that would have been ironic). One hundred babies. One hundred new little lives that I have had the privilege of documenting through my lens. It’s an honor I do not take for granted.
Miss A was such a sweetheart. She posed perfectly and looked amazing in every wrap, headband, and accessory I used with her. Such a great session to mark this milestone for my business!
Thank you to each and every family who has chosen me to capture this special time for them. Nothing makes me happier than photographing all of these beautiful babies. Looking forward to the next 100 little ones I’ll hopefully have the chance to meet!
