Each baby is a miracle, but there are some that enter this world with the added title of “rainbow baby.” A rainbow baby is any child born after a loss, such as a miscarriage – to signify the beauty that often arrives after a storm. It’s something that’s gaining more traction, especially in the newborn photography world, as more parents are choosing to commemorate their “rainbow babies” with special touches during their session. It always tugs at my heartstrings to capture these types of images because I know how special they are and I know what they represent.
Sweet Riley was so excited to join her family that she smiled almost her entire session! I kid you not, I captured a smile in almost every single pose. My favorite is the sleepy smile series below, where she was clearly dreaming of something great, and flashed me so many adorable expressions! It was impossible for me to choose which ones to include in her gallery so her parents got them all 🙂
Boston Newborn Photographer
Newborn portraits are truly a special keepsake for you and your child! Your baby will only be this small for a short period of time. I love capturing all of the details you’ll want to remember about your brand new baby – those little fingers, tiny toes, and kissable cheeks! It’s best to book your newborn session early in your second trimester. Your due date is used to reserve space on my calendar and a firm date is set for your session once your baby arrives. Newborn photography is best between 6-14 days of life. Your baby will still be sleepy and flexible enough for those adorable newborn poses you love.
