This session was very special for me for a few reasons. First, the couple. Dear friends that I met in graduate school. They live out in New York state now so I don’t get to see them very often. Second, the location. We went back to the same spot where I did their engagement session almost 4 years ago. Now they are expecting their first baby, a boy, this spring. I could not be more excited for them!
We shot this session over the course of 2 weekends and I cannot believe how incredibly lucky we got both times weather wise. Trying to do outdoor maternity photos in March in New England is pretty risky business. I didn’t know if there would be snow on the ground, rain, or if we would luck out with one of those fluke 70 degree days. Luckily the rain and snow held off. It wasn’t warm, but not bitterly cold either. The wind, however. Now that’s a different story!
The light could not have been more magical. That sky? It’s the real deal. I couldn’t have photo-shopped that if I tried! Even more amazing is the beautiful ray of sunshine that just so happens to fall right above this glowing mom-to-be.
The second weekend we lucked out yet again. It was a bit more mild and there was rain in the forecast for the afternoon, so we knew we had a limited window of time to get “THE” shot with “THE” dress. My poor friend was freezing out there on Good Harbor Beach, but wow was it worth it…
